Horus was the Egyptian sky God in the form of a falcon whose right eye was the sun and his left eye the moon. According to myth, in a fight to defeat Seth of Ombos, Horus' moon eye was damaged and healed by the God Thoth, but from then onwards the moon appeared at night in broken pieces.

The sphinx is a symbol of ancient Egyptian kingship, related to solar worship. The lion was a solar symbol in ancient Egypt and other Near Eastern cultures. The sphinx is a symbol for the god Atum - the primal creator. Sphinx amulets and figurines symbolized knowledge and wisdom.

Standing figure of the god Seth. Cast in coral effect resin.

Initialy Seth was known as the god of wind and the desert storms and an ally of his brother Osiris. Later Seth fell into disfavour with Egyptians and they started to associate him with evil and chaos. A legend tells that Seth kills Osiris and claims his throne. He is later conquered by Horus, the son of Osiris. Horus fights the chaos and restores order to the world.
